First impressions leave the greatest impact. And the same goes for your blog too. With the short attention span of the current society, a website only has up to 5 seconds to make the first impression and to persuade a visitor to stay. Unfortunately, this heartbreaking truth means that a great article will never be read if it was placed on an ugly blog. Will your blog make it pass that 5 seconds?
This may sound superficial, but one of the main things that affect the first impression of your blog is ‘how it looks‘.
A beautiful and uncluttered blog design allows for easy navigation for readers. While a messy blog design would likely turn away potential readers.
With today’s technology, beautifying your blog does not have to be a painful process any longer!
If you are on WordPress, there are many themes you can choose from that will provide the design for you. If you are on other platforms such as Wix and Weebly, you will be able to design your blog with ease using their drag and drop features. Blogger users may need to know some coding, however there are many pre-made templates available online to choose from too.
This article focuses purely on WordPress blogs.
What are WordPress Themes?
WordPress Themes are like blog skins (think wallpaper), or ‘clothes’ for your blog. These themes allow WordPress users with no coding or design knowledge to be able to create a blog design of their dreams.
Instead of being fixed blog skins, WordPress Themes allow for customization of the final outlook of your blog.
Selecting and browsing for themes is a very fun process, and deciding on the final theme can be a very difficult choice after you have seen all the nice looking themes available ^^
